People with cancer sometimes need financial assistance to pay for cancer treatments, supportive care, living expenses, transportation, and other areas.

These resources include organizations and funders providing financial support.

This list does not include all current opportunities. You can also consider the organization of fundraising in various ways.

Financial Assistance Directories and Lists Providing Many Resources

Some financial assistance directories and lists can include health insurance, copays, treatments, medications, screening, lodging, travel, transportation, counseling, support groups, rent, funds, home care, childcare, education, and many other forms of support.

Here are some tips to help you find financial support. Conduct your exploration or ask someone to help you. A possibility is a cancer coach to share information and perform potential research.

  • Non-profit organizations focused on the type of cancer you or your loved one is dealing with may provide financial assistance and/or offer resources for financial aid.
  • Community voluntary agencies and service organizations such as the United Way of America, Salvation Army, Lutheran Social Services, Jewish Social Services, and Catholic Charities may provide financial help for practical needs.
  • Federal programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, and the State Children’s Health Insurance Program offer financial assistance to people with cancer.

Legal Support

Disability Right Legal Center
Offers information about cancer-related legal issues regarding health insurance, employment, government benefits, estate planning, advanced healthcare directives, family law, and consumer assistance. Staff includes attorneys and other professionals. Other help is provided.
